Basketbal

Basketbal (Basketball) is a team sport in which two teams, typically consisting of five players each, compete to score points by throwing a ball through the opponent’s hoop, which is mounted 10 feet high. The main objective is to score more points than the opposing team by shooting the ball into the basket while adhering to various rules regarding movement, fouls, and ball handling. Each team can score by making field goals (two or three points, depending on the distance from the hoop) or free throws (one point). Basketball emphasizes skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork. It is played on a rectangular court and includes specific areas such as the key, three-point line, and free-throw line. The game is governed by official rules that dictate the duration of play, fouls, and violations. Basketball is widely recognized as one of the most popular sports globally, with professional leagues and international competitions.
