Football

Football, also known as soccer in some regions, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net using any part of the body except the arms and hands (goalkeepers are an exception). The match takes place on a rectangular field with goals at each end, and the game is typically played in two halves of 45 minutes each.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game and is overseen internationally by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). It is one of the most popular sports worldwide and is characterized by its emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and skill. The sport has a rich history and significant cultural impact, with major professional leagues and tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup, attracting millions of spectators and participants globally.
